Canon unveils world's first recycled calculator
Canon Marketing (Malaysia), has today unveiled its Environmental Series Calculator, the world’s first recycled calculators as part of its initiatives to advocate business process efficiency that protects the environment.
The Environmental Series Calculator is built based on Canon’s green product plan which consists of 5Rs:
Recycle the materials and resource
Reduce use of new resources and resort to eco-conscious design
Reuse the product life cycle
Respond to environment and human impact by improvising on material use
Reliable brand recognition
Discarded machines are recycled and the material is used to manufacture this new series of calculators hence avoiding utilization of new resources. Even the packaging, labels and manuals for these series are derived from recycled paper, making this product a wholly recycled unit.
To promote this new range of environmentally friendly calculators, Canon Marketing is collaborating with Buena Vista, the distributor of the upcoming Disney Pixar’s movie Wall-E. Leading children’s magazines and online media will be carrying an advertisement of the Canon Environmental Series Calculator and the movie Wall-E that has a RM5 voucher cut out. Readers of the magazines and online media will need to bring their old calculators and cut out the RM5 voucher and present it to Canon’s dealers nationwide to get the RM5 discount for any purchase of the Canon Environmental Series Calculator.
On top of this offer, a Wall-E activity book for the children would be given free with every purchase (only while stocks last). This promotion is valid from 14th August to 30th September. The Environmental Series Calculator is available immediately at all Canon’s authorized dealers nationwide and consists of 4 different models LS-63TG, LS-154TG, HS-1000TG and TS-1200TG. All comes with features for tax calculations, operate on dual power (battery and solar) and are lead free units. Prices start from RM29 to RM59(source).
